“Heritage in Stitches.”

The National Museum of Kazakhstan hosted the opening of the exhibition ‘Heritage in Stitches’ dedicated to Uzbek sewing and embroidery traditions.

The exposition presents rare items of the XIX-XX centuries: gold embroidered dressing gowns, embroidered suzani, men's and women's skullcaps with national ornaments, decorative bedspreads and jewellery. The works are made in ‘zaminduzi’ and ‘gulduzi’ techniques, traditional for Uzbek embroidery.
