As part of the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Busan, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation and the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, Gayane Umerova, met with Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
The parties discussed the implementation of joint cultural heritage conservation projects, including the restoration of the Poi Kalyan Complex and the establishment of an open-air archaeological museum in the Shakhristan area of Bukhara. They also discussed the prospects for preparing the Zaamin Mountains nomination for future inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
