On 6 September, the Centre for Contemporary Arts Tashkent (CCA Tashkent) will open its doors to the public for the very first time. The day’s programme will feature workshops, poetry readings, film screenings, conversations, live performances, music and exhibition tours.

For younger visitors, the programme includes Little CCA Tashkent Makers: Clay and Puppets, inspired by the works of Kimsooja and Ali Cherri; Flying Carpets, inspired by a work by Nadia Kaabi-Linke; and an upcycling workshop. The programme will also feature poetry readings and a screening of films by Kimsooja and Ali Cherri.

Throughout the day, visitors can experience Avaaz, a performance featuring vocalists from the Yunus Rajabi Uzbek National Music Arts Institute, as well as a conversation with Nadia Kaabi-Linke. The evening will conclude with the musical programme Shashmaqom: Method.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover Hikmah through a curatorial tour and exhibition tours led by CCA Tashkent mediators.
