A meeting took place between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and Chase F. Robinson, Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for developing cultural, museum and academic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Smithsonian Institution, including participation in the international conference "Provenance and Asian Art: Sharing Stories, Building Connections", which will take place in Berlin in 2026. The sides also discussed the implementation of an exhibition project dedicated to the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, the expansion of cooperation in the field of archaeological and historical-cultural research, academic and professional exchange, as well as the development of educational programmes and training initiatives for museum specialists in conservation, restoration and museum management.
