On 11 and 12 April, as part of the International Ballet Festival, an evening of ballets by Mikhail Fokine was presented on the stage of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Uzbekistan, performed by the Ural Ballet company from Yekaterinburg.
The two days of performances were a great success, drawing a full house and receiving a warm response from the audience.
The programme featured iconic works by Mikhail Fokine: The Vision of the Rose — a poetic tale of a dream and ballet fantasy; The Swan — a deeply expressive solo piece that became a symbol of Anna Pavlova’s art; Chopiniana — a refined ballet set to the music of Frédéric Chopin; Carnaval — an elegant ballet-pantomime to the music of Robert Schumann, capturing the atmosphere of the early nineteenth century.
