On 21 October, the First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Azizbek Mannopov, met with the Director of the National Museum of the Palaces of Versailles and Trianon, Laurent Salomé.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities to strengthen cultural cooperation, particularly through the organisation of joint exhibition projects and the expansion of professional exchanges in the museum sector.

Particular attention was given to the possibility of staging an exhibition dedicated to the Napoleonic era at the National Museum of Uzbekistan, currently under construction in Tashkent, featuring works of art, decorative arts objects and archival materials from the collections of Versailles. The discussions also explored the possibility of organising an exhibition at Versailles highlighting Uzbekistan’s cultural and historical heritage and the connections between Central Asia and Europe.
